Inauguration Place of East Jakarta Mayor still Slum

The slum at RT 07/05, Pulo Jahe Urban Village, Cakung Sub-District, East Jakarta, was chosen as the place where inactive Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo inaugurated East Jakarta Mayor HR Krisdianto and Deputy Mayor Husein Murad because it was expected would improve. But after one and a half year, the expectation still not realized. The place is still a dirty place with many trashes.

There is no change since the mayor inaugurated until now, trashes are always piling. Residents can only burn the trash to reduce the piles

H Marullah (58), a local, disclosed that trashes in that place are rarely transported. This condition is contradictory to East Jakarta Mayor’s promise to fix resident’s facilities and erase dirty image in inauguration place.

Throwing Trash Carelessly, ID Card Seized

There is no change since the mayor inaugurated until now, trashes are always piling. Residents can only burn the trash to reduce the piles,” he said, Monday (6/9).

According to Marullah, the mayor promised to repair the water channels in that place and provide trash processing tools, but still not realized until now. Inevitably, the residents are disappointed.

“From long ago, the officers were just measuring the water channels, but the repair work is never carried out. We were also told would be given trash processing tools, but when?” he questioned.

Responding this matter, East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Husein Murad, denied the residents’ complaints about many trashes in the place where he was inaugurated. He even accused the residents were perfunctory in making reports.

“Not in that location, perhaps. Its only residents’ subterfuges,” he stated.
